The pace of work on the shop has accelerated and we now have walls and the roof trusses are set! 

It's been a busy few weeks here at the shop site. Stone was put down for the driveway entrance. The block foundation was set and stone was leveled in preparation for pouring the concrete slab. Earlier this week rough plumbing was put in and then the slab was poured. Things are starting to move quickly. Excitement is building as we get closer to opening the new shop!

After several weeks of getting all the red tape taken care of, work resumed on the construction of my new shop. Footings poured during a thunderstorm where we became completely covered in mud. Another step closer though and in the very near future the shop will be up and operational.  

This week work continued on clearing the land and getting the lot ready for grading. The trees were recycled to charcoal and some will be used for firewood. The driveway path and building site were cleared and the next step is the grading process. I had a special helper today as Henry laid out the shop perimeter.

Exciting news for Thomas Woodworks! Yesterday ground was broken on my new shop in Clarksville. Routt Construction started the process yesterday and will be building the shop with completion expected by the end of the summer. The shop will provide around 1900 square feet of office/storage and shop space. More room for projects :) Check back on the blog for more construction updates as the summer rolls along.
